H2Open Newsletter – Push the Pace

Published: Wed, 06/01/16

This week in the newsletter we look at pacing. Even if you only ever race against yourself, it is useful to be able to change pace when necessary (to beat a tide, to beat a friend to the cake tin). If you do race, however, Simon has some interesting data on pacing in the pool and how that can transfer to the open water
Three weeks ago I signed up to go plastic-free in June – pledging to give up single-use plastics in support of the Marine Conservation Society's campaign to reduce the amount of litter in our seas and on our beaches. Today is the first day of no plastic and I can see it is going to be quite a tricky task – no Double Deckers! More details on our website if you want to get involved too.
The June/July issue of H2Open Magazine hits the shops this week. An annual subscription costs less than most pairs of goggles so if you don't already subscribe, why not sign up now?
Enjoy the newsletter and happy swimming.

Swim Vacation
SwimVacation

This is Dave. He’s a SwimVacation guide, and he thinks he can fly. Unfortunately, gravity got the better of him on this leap, and he hit the water at a disturbing angle. When you join us for your SwimVacation, please don’t be like Dave.

We create extraordinary yacht-based swimming holidays in the British Virgin Islands, the Turkish Coast, and Hawaii. Non-swimming spouses and partners also love us because we treat them so well and give them lots of options for other activities (including SUP, hikes, and naps).
