It's again that time in our production cycle when we chain Jonathan to his desk to make sure he hits the deadline for sending the new issue to the printer, which means I get to write our newsletter.
Our June/July issue goes to press at the end of this week, so it should be posted to subscribers by the end of next week. We’ve got
another bumper issue with some great features to look forward to: we get a taste of some really wild swimming with Jack Bright in the Arctic, report on the wave of lido revivals and investigate the benefits of mindful swimming. We have a series of wild swimming walks in Devon for you to try and get some top tips on how to be a support kayaker. Plus, more event and gear reviews than ever before as well as all the usual training, technique and nutrition advice.
Meanwhile, for our northern hemisphere readers, we hope you're enjoying the spring. Talking to some of the lake operators it sounds like they're seeing lots of new swimmers this
year, which is a great sign that open water swimming is continuing to grow.
We look forward to seeing some of you at events this year. On Sunday (22 May) I will be at Ragley Hall for the
RLSS Open Water Festival and then in June we'll be at the
Great North Swim in Windermere. If you're there, stop by and say hello. If you've got any questions about open water swimming, we'll do our best to help you.
Enjoy the newsletter and happy swimming,
Simon Griffiths
