H2Open Newsletter – Education not Scaremongering

Published: Wed, 05/04/16

More people drown running or walking near open water than they do swimming in it, but it is unimaginable that anyone would advocate banning running or walking near water. Yet as the water warms up then up go the "No Swimming" signs. In this week's blog, Simon asks how can we change attitudes to open water safety? As well as broadening the dialogue between all those with an interest in the open water, it is essential that all children be taught how to swim and how to stay safe around open water.
What do you think? Let us know and if we publish your letter in the magazine you will also be in with a chance of winning an Arena Fastpack 2.1 backpack worth £52. Email editor@h2openmagazine.com
Enjoy the newsletter and happy swimming,
