H2Open Newsletter - Swim training types and personality

April / May 2016 Issue at the printer
As well as having a busy weekend at Swim Expo, we also sent the April/May issue to the printer, so that should now go in the post to subscribers early next week. See below for a preview of the contents.

Swim Expo took place alongside Run Expo and Bike Expo. A lot of the visitors were triathletes and many were new to open water swimming. It was therefore interesting to hear their thoughts about swimming outside. One thing is clear: a lot of people see open water swimming as cold, dirty and dangerous.

Those of us who are already converts know that this isn't the case but if we want open water swimming to continue growing we need to talk positively about the sport and all do our part to dispel some of the negative images. Our message this week then is: don't talk open water swimming down.

Happy swimming

Vote and sign the petition for a new lido in Twickenham
Would you like to see something like this in Twickenham?

The local paper (Richmond and Twickenham Times) is currently running a survey of options for re-developing the site, and the lido is in second place. Your vote could push it in front and prompt the council to take the proposition seriously. Please vote now.
