[H2Open Newsletter] - Five steps to an ultra-efficient pull

Published: Wed, 02/17/16

It's that time of year when we are all starting to plan and train for the summer's swimming. If you need help on how to train for your goals, or you are having trouble with injury niggles or need some advice on nutrition, technique or any other aspect of your swimming, email us and we will put your queries to our team of experts.
This week's training article from Total Immersion head coach Terry Laughlin concentrates on the pull – the propulsive phase of the armstroke. Plus, Simon looks at how to pace your races like a professional.
The April/May H2Open/Selkie Reader Photo Contest is now open. Send us your best open water swimming shots to be in with a chance to see them published in the next issue of the magazine – and win a bundle of kit from Selkie. See our website for details on how to enter the contest
2016 marks five years of H2Open – and we are throwing a party to celebrate! See below for details on how you can win a pair of tickets.
Enjoy the newsletter and happy swimming!

Barbados Open Water Festival
Barbados Open Water Festival

What a treat…. a swimcation to Barbados in November! Crystal water and white sand on the bottom in the magnificent and historic Carlisle Bay, great prizes, serious and seriously fun swimmers from all over the world and a beach party atmosphere!  This year the Barbados Open Water Festival (Nov 5-6) is adding a 10K race to the schedule in addition to the 1.5K race, 1.5K “Just for Fun” and 5K race.

The verdict from the swimmers was well demonstrated in their sentiments on 2015: 'Swims were beyond expectations', 'What a total blast it was in Barbados', 'As I leave Barbados, I am just in bliss reflecting on the amazing people I met', and 'I love this awesome swim event.’
