It's gonna be great... (and that's not just our new June issue)

This weekend, Outdoor Swimmer is heading up to Windermere for the Great North Swim, which has now been running since 2008, the first year that marathon swimming featured in the Olympics. This will be our seventh year at the event and we're excited to test out the new venue at Brockhole. We'll be there with our stand and copies of our new June issue for sale. Come and see us for a chat, to renew your subscription or take out a new subscription. On Saturday, I'll also be taking part in the Great North Swimrun (middle distance), which looks like it should be a lot of fun. If I've got any energy left, I'd like to get in a swim on Sunday too.

A brand new event for 2018 is happening on 21 July

THE BLACKPOOL PIER TO PIER SWIM

Swim past the iconic sights of Blackpool Tower and the famous Golden Mile. The distance is approximately 1.6 miles starting at North Pier and finishing at South Pier.

Get Set 4 Success Blackpool Pier to Pier Open Water Swim

The venue is the Sandcastle Water Park, South Beach. Following registration swimmers will take a tram ride together to the start which will be at North Pier. Full safety cover is provided by Blackpool Beach Patrol and HM Coastguard.

All swimmers on completion receive a bespoke medal and a tee shirt to commemorate the occasion.
