If you were to name ideal places to live for outdoor swimming, London probably wouldn't come very high on your list. But actually the capital offers more than its fair share of outdoor and wild swimming spots – heated and unheated lidos, ponds and lakes.
Last weekend I swam at West Reservoir in Stoke Newington for the first time and this week we took a break from our Monday morning editorial meeting for a team dip in the Thames. Nothing sharpens the mind like a refreshing swim in cool water – and it sure beats the cup of bad coffee and a Pret sandwich that heralded the end of meetings in my old office job!
Swim wild and free,
