Could it be? Is spring finally here? At the weekend I double-dipped at two unheated lidos in London – Tooting and Brockwell. Tooting was a crisp 8 degrees, but Brockwell had reached double figures – a balmy 10.4 degrees! If you haven't been swimming outdoors through the winter, now is the perfect time to get back in the
water as lidos and lakes start opening for the season. Contributing editor Alice was upping her training for Lake Zurich at Charlton Lido, while OS founder Simon started his open water season in spectacular fashion – winning the Ötillö swimrun sprint race in Hvar, Croatia. If you haven't already picked up a copy of Outdoor Swimmer magazine, our first anniversary issue is out now. Tarn bagging, how to beat shoulder injury, wild swimming, a
mollusc orgy and more of your inspirational stories and photos. Plus, we test swimming costumes, goggles, hats, ear plugs, wetsuits, base layers and kit bags in our new extended gear section. And to celebrate our first anniversary we will donate £1 from every issue sold to Macmillan Cancer Support. Order your copy directly from us or download the digital version now – or of course you could subscribe for less than the cost of a new swimming cozzie. Enjoy the newsletter and happy swimming, Jonathan Cowie Editor, Outdoor Swimmer
