May your laps be as happy as mine

On Monday myself and contributing editor Alice were lucky enough to be in the Lake District, where we (and my dog Beans) had a lovely swim in Windermere. Just before we swam we learnt the sad news of the death of Terry Laughlin, founder of Total Immersion. We swam in memory of Terry, a man who was an inspiration to swimmers around the world. He faced cancer with the same optimism and passion for life that he displayed in his life and his swimming. It was a privilege to have met him and worked with him over the last couple of years on Outdoor Swimmer. He will be much missed and our thoughts are with his family. I will sign off today's newsletter as he signed off all his emails: "May your laps be as happy as mine."
