We're sending our November issue to the printer tomorrow and we've got some great stories we're looking forward to sharing with you. My personal favourites include a "My Swim Story" piece by comedian Angela Barnes, who writes movingly about body image fears and how outdoor
swimming helped her combat mental health issues, and a short article by Pete Kelly about craving the solitude and intensity of a cold swim.
We also review Breca SwimRun Jersey (spoiler alert: I loved it) and Marnaton's Cadaqués Swim (spoiler alert: I loved this one too). We interview Jazz Carlin, who won two silver medals at the Rio Olympics in the pool and recently announced
that she's looking to add open water swimming to her programme. Last weekend she finished 11th in her first international attempt at marathon swimming (see news below).
The digital version of our November issue will be available by next Wednesday (or earlier) and print subscribers should start receiving their copies from 27 October.
If you don't already subscribe, sign up now. It's the cheapest and most reliable way for you to ensure you receive a copy, and it reduces wastage for us so is better for the environment.
After spending nearly every weekend through the summer at an open water event of some kind, my next swimming challenge is back in the pool for Swim England's National Masters next weekend. This means I've spent the last few weeks working on starts, turns and sprints. If, like me, you've moving back into the pool for a few months, see below for some suggestions on how to cope with the chlorine box.
Enjoy the newsletter and happy swimming.
