Outdoor Swimmer Newsletter – Lessons from 2Swim4Life

Subscribers in the UK should by now have received our second issue (May 17) of Outdoor Swimmer. If not, please let us know so that we can investigate any delays. We've got a focus on training this issue as we know many of you are planning big swims in 2017, whether it's your first open water mile, a 10km marathon swim or beyond. The issue also includes Part 2 of our Beginner's Guide and will be available in shops from tomorrow (Thursday 27th). Alternatively, you can buy the new issue from us directly here.

Meanwhile, last weekend was a busy one in the world of long distance swimming. The epic 2Swim4Life started off at 9am on Saturday morning in Guildford and ran non-stop for 24 hours with swimmers swimming a mile every hour, either individually or as part of a team. Then on Saturday evening the 2017 International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony took place in Old Windsor. By some skillful juggling of my relay slots and with the support of my team, I was able to take part in both and I've shared some thoughts on 2Swim4Life below.

Enjoy the newsletter and happy swimming.
