You know that feeling, when you're standing next to the water and about to get in. The one where you're excited and nervous at the same time and you know that what's coming next might actually be quite difficult and you have that moment of doubt about whether you've prepared properly. And then you dive in and get on with it anyway.

Well, that's a bit like how we're feeling today. Over the past few months we've been working hard behind the scenes on two big changes: a new name and an increase in publication frequency.

We announced the change to our magazine subscribers in the latest issue of H2Open, which should have arrived over the weekend or early this week. Today, we're rebranding our newsletter, website and social media accounts. In March we will publish the first issue of Outdoor Swimmer. This also gives us an opportunity to refresh and improve our content for outdoor swimmers of all levels of experience.

But don't worry, we're not changing everything. We're the same team and we've got the same mission: to provide inspiration and information for people to swim outdoors.

Our first issue of Outdoor Swimmer will include a special introduction to outdoor swimming, so if you're looking to get started, now would be the perfect opportunity to sign up for a subscription. With our direct debit introductory offer you can get the first three issues of Outdoor Swimmer for just £5.

You can read more about why we decided to change our name here.

Happy swimming
