H2Open Newsletter – Swim to the Beat

Published: Wed, 01/11/17

The winter swimming season is well under way and plenty of you are still dipping and swimming in the outdoors – last weekend the International Ice Swimming Association World Championships took place in Burghausen, Germany and next on the calendar is the UK Cold Water Swimming Championships. But you don't have to compete to enjoy a winter dip – thank you to everyone who sent in their winter swimming pics last week. We will publish the best in the next issue of H2Open Magazine.
Our letters prize next issue is a pair of impressively-bobbled wooly hats from Big Bobble Hats – perfect for warming up with after a swim. If you have something you want to say about swimming outdoors, email us your letter to be in with a chance of claiming the prize.
Enjoy the newsletter and happy swimming.

Dive into a Great Swim
Britain’s biggest open water swimming events will return to a host of stunning locations in the UK this year. The first in the Great Swim Series is the flagship event of the year – the Great North Swim, a three-day festival of swimming in the Lake District National Park. A week later we head to Suffolk for the Great East Swim in Ipswich, and in August, Great Swim heads north to the iconic setting of Loch Lomond for the final event of the year.

The Great Swim events offer a selection of distances suitable for all levels and abilities, ranging from a ½ mile right up to a 10k swim marathon distance!
