H2Open Newsletter – How You Can Swim Faster by Counting Strokes

Published: Wed, 12/07/16

On Monday morning at my local lido we had the first freeze of the season. Unfortunately I have flu, so sensibly (but reluctantly) didn't take the plunge – although plenty of swimmers were enjoying dicing with the ice and then shivering themselves warm afterwards with coffee and cake. What a way to start the working week – a mini adventure before the daily commute. I hope the ice returns soon – but not before I get better! Send us your pics of you winter swimming and we will publish the best in the SwimSnaps pages of the magazine.
The December/January issue of H2Open is in the shops now and includes our top tips for cold water swimming as well as winter motivation boosts to keep you inspired through the dark days of winter. An annual subscription to H2Open costs less than a pair of goggles – and you can get your first three issues for just £8.70 when you pay by direct debit. Subscribe and save money on the cover price. And if you can't decide what to get the open water swimmer in your life for Christmas, why not give them an H2Open Christmas gift subscription?
Enjoy the newsletter and happy swimming,
Jonathan Cowie
