Here in the UK we are basking in unseasonal October sunshine, but water temperatures are slowly dropping. In my local lido the temperature is now hovering around 15 degrees Celsius, but the pool is still full of swimmers – as it will be when the temperature is in single figures. The number of people swimming all year
round seems to be increasing every year. If you haven't been turned on to the thrill of cold water swimming, why not try it this autumn and winter? Acclimatise yourself by keeping swimming while the water cools, and follow our tips on winter swimming from International Winter Swimming Association vice
president, John Coningham-Rolls. The October/November edition of H2Open goes on sale tomorrow, but subscribers are already enjoying reading their copies. An annual subscription to H2Open magazine costs less than a pair of goggles – and you can get your first three issues for just £8.70 when you pay by direct debit.
