Hi
Where did you miss swimming most in lockdown? My first trip to the sea was pretty magical after being stuck in London for so many months. Now I am living in the Lake District I am spoilt for choice for swim spots, but the sea still has that special allure – luckily it isn't too far away either!
The June issue of Outdoor Swimmer is at the printers and we are super excited about the new issue – we have a thicker magazine with more content, just for you. If you are not yet a subscriber, order your copy now. Below is a little taste of what's coming up.
In the June issue
- The Spell of the Sea: Why does the ocean hold such an allure? Why does it feel so good to swim in the sea? Should we fear the depths or monsters within? We dive in and explores the mystery of the sea.
- Turning the Tide: Accessing the outdoors if you are disabled can be challenging. How can we turn the tide and make outdoor swimming more accessible for all?
- Smash your mile PB with a training plan from triple Olympian Keri-anne Payne.
- Adventure swimming: How to get started in swim camping.
- Think Outside the Box: Why is swimming such a difficult skill to learn?
In this issue we also explore tarns, lochans and llyns. The future of lidos. Will swimming outdoors make Raynaud's worse? Wildlife and foraging for cocktails. Improve your technique with a pool training session from Dan Bullock.
Plus... we look at new gear: swimsuits and towfloats. Pre-swim warm-up exercises. And Swimming Around... County Durham.
We can't wait to hear what you make of this edition when it lands on your doormat.
