Hands up who’s got that trusty, comfy and versatile swimsuit they always reach for whether it’s for training in the pool or the open water?

I’m currently training for a 5km swim in Lake Bled, Slovenia in September. I’m splitting half my training between my local pool and swimming lake. These goggles are a cinch to put on, easily adjustable to your head size and fit snugly around the eye sockets. The gaskets are made from high-grade silicon, making them very soft and comfortable around the delicate eyes. The split straps are handy for wearing either side of my hair bun. 

Pool training

My indoor pool has a glazed wall at one end, so depending on the time of day it can either be really dim or quite bright for a training session. The lenses performed well for both of these conditions, providing clear visibility throughout my swimming. And the goggles aced the ultimate test – kicking off from the side of the pool. The goggles stayed put, without any leakage issues. 

Heading outside

The photochromic lenses react to the sun’s rays, allowing for a darker and more protective tint in brighter conditions, and complete clarity in darker settings. These lenses performed brilliantly on both overcast and sunny days, adjusting seamlessly to the changing conditions. I noticed that colours stayed true even in bright light, rather than going that strange blueish tint that sometimes occurs with reactor lenses. These goggles also have excellent wide vision for the open water. 

The verdict? These versatile, comfy and high-performing swimming goggles have a permanent place in the internal pocket of my swim kit bag. Come rain or shine!
