Would you swim in a city waterway? From washing in the river in the 18th century to contemporary dockland swim spots, we have a long and nuanced relationship with urban swimming.

Our April issue will look at all aspects of swimming in the city, from local byelaws and pollution, to climate adaption and wellbeing. We ask why it's important to have access to blue spaces in urban areas, and how to make that access safe, fair and beneficial to all.
