Dear fellow swimmers
Don't Be Prey
Earlier this week I saw Don't Be Prey, a new documentary about - on the surface, at least - Mark Sowerby's journey through the Oceans Seven. But it's more than this - and well worth a watch. You can read my review here. If you can, try to get to one of the screenings on the Q&A tour for a chance to meet Mark.
We're also hoping to bring Mark onto one of our Virtual Member Events later this month to explore themes of resilience and recovery through swimming. We'll share details soon.
Meanwhile we have a few places left on next week's Virtual Event: Flourishing Through Swimming.
March Climategames Challenge
Our Climategames challenges are free,
open to anyone, easy to do, and convert your swimming into action for the planet. You just need to download the Climategames app and either link it to your sports watch to register your swims or add them manually. Climategames does the rest. Find our March challenge
here.
Swimrun survey
Did you know we also run a website and newsletter about swimrun over at
swimrunner.world? If you enjoy running as well as swimming and are interested in swimrun, take a look and sign up. We're also working with Swimrun UK to help them understand what swimrunners
are looking for.
Your views will help shape the development of the sport. Please share them here.
Improve your breathing technique
Finally, we're collaborating with Catch on a free four-part video series. Each week you’ll get one simple technique tweak from Rebecca Wetten (Co-Founder & Head Coach at Catch) to help your front crawl feel smoother & more relaxed. Scroll down to the bottom of this email to watch Episode 1: Trickle Breathing, the key to relaxed breathing.
