Our popular Swim Further and Faster in Open Water Course starts this Monday 18th May - online from 6pm.
The live, small‑group programme is designed to help you swim faster, smarter, and with more confidence in open water. Over four interactive sessions you will develop a "swim-faster" mindset and improve your:
🏊♀️Front crawl technique
🏊♀️Sighting and navigation
🏊♀️Pacing and pace control
🏊♀️Drafting and pack swimming
🏊♀️Acclimatisation
We'll also show you how to create your own personal training plan.
Course details
The course takes place over four session on Zoom. Numbers are limited to allow time for discussion and questions. Dates are as follows:
Session 1 - Monday 18 May, 6pm – Fundamentals
Session 2 -
Wednesday 20 May, 6pm – Open water adaptations
Session 3 – Monday 25 May, 6pm - Performance Skills
Session 4 – Monday 27 May, 6pm - Cold water tolerance and how to train
(All times are BST)
Price: £75 for all four sessions.
Who’s it for?
This course is ideal if you’re training for your first open water event, or if you already have experience and want to improve your speed, efficiency, and
confidence in races or long swims.
Your coach
The course is led by Outdoor Swimmer founder, Simon Griffiths. Simon has more than 15 years of
experience of thinking and writing about swimming, as well as competing in a wide range of swimming challenges. He's a past age-group open water national champion and was part of the team that created the STA's Open Water Coaching Qualification.
