Dear fellow swimmers
Celebrating the power of swimming plus 100th edition coming up
I was away last week and missed the Surfers Against Sewage length of the Thames swim.
This was a shame as they finished almost outside my house and I would have loved to have met the swimmers. Luckily, one of our readers was there to witness the moment - and it left an impression. She shared her thoughts and some of her pictures with us here.

On the other hand, I was in
Portugal, enjoying clearer (but not warmer) waters at the wonderful Swim Party 10km, along a beautiful section of the Algarve coastline. I'm pleased to report that I finished 2nd, one-place better than last year.

In other news, it's hard to believe that we're working on our 100th edition of Outdoor Swimmer magazine (and we published 38 issues of H2Open Magazine before that). To celebrate, we've put together a special
prize package. To be in with a chance of winning, you need to be a current print subscriber – the last chance to sign up for a subscription to be included is midnight on 16 September.
Remember, print subscribers get free digital access through our app, which includes our full magazine archive meaning you'll always have something about outdoor swimming
to read.

Also, as a subscriber, you
