Dear fellow swimmers
Hector Pardoe completes Three Lakes Challenge, raising more than £7,000 for Surfers Against Sewage
Fresh from racing in the 10km marathon swim at
last month's World Championships, British Olympian Hector Pardoe took on a phenomenal personal challenge last weekend: swimming the lengths of Loch Lomond, Windermere and Lake Bala in less than 24-hours.

Have World Aquatics solved open water swimming's TV problem?
In our reader surveys, we repeatedly find that you - our readers -
have limited interest in elite open water swimming. Part of the problem is that marathon swimming doesn't work well on television. It's difficult to follow the tactics and changing fortunes of the athletes as the race progresses. Often the camera focuses only on the leaders. Sometimes even the commentators seem to have little idea what is going on.
Last
month, World Aquatics introduced a new open water format to their World Championships, the 3km Knockout. And I loved it. It's dynamic, exciting, and all over in less than hour.
👉 Find out how it works, and who were the winners. Maybe it will change your view on elite open water swimming.
I also discovered that you can
watch open water and pool swimming for free on Eurovision Sport.
Kaolinite Aquathlon
Finally, on a personal note, I took part in Mad Hatter's Kaolinite Aquathlon last weekend. It was fun - and a little harder than I thought it would be.
