Dear fellow swimmers
Fight back and make a difference
You may have noticed we’ve refreshed the look and feel of Outdoor Swimmer magazine, just in time for spring. Inside, you’ll
find we’ve revamped our environment, gear and training sections.
While mainstream news is often awash with doom and gloom, we like to shine a light on people and organisations who are fighting back and making a difference. The outdoor swimming community is full of positivity.
For example, take a look at one of our Environment Section pages from the April issue,
which we’ve made available free. Here, find out about River Action’s River Rescue Kit, swimming medals made from recycled aluminium cans, and the poet who married a river in an attempt to achieve personhood status for the water and to raise awareness about untreated sewage being pumped into the waterways.
We've also made our Community Pages free. Meet the group working to revive Cellardyke Tidal Pool and the discover joy of giving back as a volunteer.

Getting involved and giving back is a fantastic way to enhance your experience
of swimming. We know many of you already do – for example, 1,265 swimmers responded to DEFRA’s recent consultation on Bathing Water Regulations – but do keep alert for opportunities.
And do let us know what you get up to. We may be able to feature you in a future edition of the magazine.
