Henley Swim turns 20 this year and they want to make this the best Festival yet, to celebrate two decades of fantastic swimming and the community that has formed around
it.
The Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival has it all – a stunning location, river swims, a bustling event village packed full of exhibitors with the latest kit, food and entertainment for all ages. Even if you're not swimming there is plenty to see and do.
NEW for this year – 2 nights camping. Make a weekend of it – stay Friday and Saturday nights on the banks of the river and enjoy food, drink and evening swims. The 2 mile swim is new this year and joins a range of events to suit everyone, from the 200m Splash to the UNLTD – where you can swim the Mile course as many times across the
day as you can. The Rock Choir and Almost Synchro team up this year for a long-awaited collaboration, and there are more fun activities lined up for children this year – more details to come.
The Henley Swim team are delighted to confirm that Sian Richardson, the energetic founder of the Bluetits Chill
Swimmers will once again be leading the Zoggs Half Mile warm-up. Expect hilarity, inclusivity and fun!
And there will be extra fun to celebrate 20 years of Henley Swim on the Saturday night – more info to come on that.
Perhaps another Henley Swim event is right for you? Here's a handy summary. With events for beginners to experts, you'll find something for everyone across the summer.
The first Henley swim event of the season is the Selkie Henley Classic on 30th June. This iconic event features on many bucket-lists due to it very early start – around 4am – and the unique perspective you get by
swimming the Henley Royal Regatta course as the sun comes up over the Thames and when it is completely free of boat traffic. Enjoy bragging rights and a mega-endorphin rush with your coffee.
If you're more of a Saturday night kind of a person, then the Club to Pub attracts a different crowd. This 1.5km swim starts in the evening from Henley Rowing Club and ends at the Angel on the Bridge pub in central Henley.
Just the right time to grab your free beer and bottle-opener medal and get stuck into the BBQ on the terrace overlooking the river. Quite a Saturday night. This event is currently sold out, but if you join the waiting list now there is a good chance you'll get a place.
Perhaps you're looking for the ultimate swim challenge – in which case the Thames Marathon may fit the brief. This is one of endurance swimming's most prestigious events and in 2023 the Thames Marathon won the top swimming
event award possible - based on swimmer reviews. There are four options – 5.5km Half, 9km Mid and 13km Full distances, as well as a 3-person relay – new for this year. The energy snacks at the lock stops are legendary!
