TIP OF THE WEEK: RETURNING TO OPEN WATER? TAKE IT EASY If you’re returning to open water swimming after a winter of pool swimming (or no swimming!), we suggest you take it
easy on your first couple of swims. Get used to being back in open water, swim at a steady pace and enjoy the experience. If you then want to introduce a training element, try experimenting with swimming at different speeds. Do a circuit where you increase your speed after every turn, or swim 20 strokes fast and then 20 steady. Make a game of it and have fun. See here for more open water training tips.
