🏊♀️ Get ready for one of the most beautiful swims in the world 🏊♂️
7-9 June
2024, Windermere, Lake District
Arla Great North Swim, the biggest open water swimming event in the UK, is back this year, taking place the weekend of 7-9 June 2024. You and the family can enjoy three days of exciting open water swimming and swimrun adventures, surrounded by the
natural beauty of the Lake District, with an event village full of activities for all to enjoy.
The Arla Great North Swim offers swimmers a range of distances for all abilities, from a 250m to a 10km swim, and lots of distances in between!
Whatever distance you swim at the Arla Great North Swim, make sure you pause to take in the views – the
Langdale Pikes rising in the distance, big skies overhead, the waters of Windermere rippling around you. Take time to enjoy your moment of swimming in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.
In the Event Village there will be lots to see and do for those who are swimming as well as anyone who is there to
support. There’ll also be a wide range of independent local food producers on site, plus a beer tent serving local Lakes beers – perfect for a post-swim celebration!
Whether you’re a seasoned open water swimmer or a beginner trying your first event, there’s an array of distances for you to
try, from 250m to a 10km swim. When you’ve completed your event you can grab a Finishers' Pack, which includes your medal, T-shirt and other goodies. Alongside the swim events there are training sessions for you to hone your skills, including an Open Water Masterclass.
The idea behind the SwimRun is to take part as a pair and tackle the challenge together. In your team of two you’ll enjoy
the best of the open water and the trails around the Lake District.
Depending on your level or appetite for a challenge, you can choose from the Short (12.6km), Middle (23.9km) or Endurance (38.8km) routes – all taking place on Saturday 8 June 2024. Now is the time to partner up and sign up!
If you’d like to give your friends and family the chance to track your swim progress at this year’s event, you
can now hire a brand new swim tracker.
The tracker allows your loved ones (wherever they are in the world) to monitor your progress throughout your Great Swim event. They’ll be able to see when you start, when you finish and where you are on an online map as you make your way around the course. You will also be able to check your timings after you finish your swim, as well as being able to see the timings of other
participants.
