Dear fellow swimmers,
There were terrifying scenes at swimming spots at the
beginning of this week with many people celebrating Halloween in the water. I don't know how anyone swims with a pumpkin on their head, but I love the bold swimmers who decided to try it and with brilliant results. Any excuse for dress-up and an occasion reminds me that swimmers love to perform, join and create as a community, check out Simon's piece about why our community is so important.
Clocks fell back last weekend in the northern hemisphere and now we are in November many swimmers have been celebrating the start of winter swimming season while others have made the
decision to head back to the pool. Our winter swimming training plan might be useful to give your swim sessions some focus.
In other news, I have written a book! Yes, another swimming book in the world and while you might already be a seasoned outdoor swimmer, if you are lurking waterside and signed up to this newsletter for inspiration, my book, How to Wild Swim: What to
Know Before Taking the Plunge, might be a useful guide. It is fully illustrated and so also makes a lovely book to gift to a swimming pal. I am having a swim and book signing next weekend if you fancy joining!
