In fact, when members of the HerSpirit community tested these suits for a combined total of over 400 hours, their research – along with lab tests – revealed the thermal silver lining helped retain body heat for 60% longer compared to normal swimwear. “When we spoke to open water swimmers, it was all about emotion. So we wanted to draw on these elements: how
swimming in ‘skins’ makes them feel more with nature. The colour was very important because open water should be about empowerment. It’s a celebration – you should be wearing colour!"
