UNTIL NEXT TIME...

Last weekend I travelled to Scotland to take part in Go Swim’s Loch Lomond event. We were blessed with perfect weather, 15 degree water that felt warm in the sunshine and glorious views onto Ben Lomond to the north. I did the 10k swim, which took us on eight laps of a 1.25km triangular course, which I thought might be dull but turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable way to cover the distance. I was pleased to dip under 2hrs30 for the swim but I was a good 10 minutes behind the winner. The other swims ranged from a family-friendly 250m to 5km and there was an aquathon option too. We’ll have a full report on this event in a future issue but if you want to try another of Go Swim’s events, they’ll be at Loch Morlich next weekend.

For those of you in the UK, I hope you’re making the most of this sudden and unexpected return of summer weather. We will be at Swim Serpentine next weekend and look forward to meeting some of you there.
