Swim a marathon or half marathon for WaterAid |
In the UK we're lucky to have clean water in abundance to help us live healthy, happy lives – for swimming as well as
drinking, cooking, washing and growing food. But for 1 in 10 people around the world that just isn't the case.
This summer take on a swim challenge like no other: swim a marathon or half marathon distance over 12 weeks and raise funds for the 771 million people worldwide who don’t
have clean drinking water close to home.
Take on the WaterAid challenge!
How you complete your 26 or 13 miles it is completely up to you: break your swim challenge down to weekly goals, or reach your target over just a few swims. The challenge runs for 12 weeks from 1 August 2023. It doesn’t matter if you
swim indoors or out in the wild. What's important is you have fun, enjoy the water and raise some money to bring clean water to others around the world!
For the first time this year, young people under the age of 18 can join in the challenge. Why not get the whole family involved? As well as raising funds and taking your health, wellbeing and fitness to the next level, swimmers will get a FREE swim cap when they raise over £20, a FREE medal when they raise
over £100 and complete their target distance, and entry into a prize draw to win a ddipp Sea Monster Changing robe when they raise over £150!

When communities get clean water for the first time there's a tremendous sense of joy. They know that from now on there's a chance for children to stay in school and get an education, for families to make a decent living, and
for the whole community to lift themselves out of poverty. There's the possibility of a healthier, happier life.

Go on, dip your toe in and take on the only charity swim challenge event tackling a full marathon or half marathon distance – give it a go, make it your swim challenge of 2023!
