YOUR ESSENTIAL WEEKLY EDIT OF OUTDOOR SWIMMING
#swimwildandfree
Dear swimmers
Much of the UK has been gripped by a cold snap this week, as Kate Kinsella predicted for us back in our November issue. The lower than usual water temperatures for the time of year have prompted much excitement in the cold water swimming community
and resulted in lots of social media pictures of chilly swims. But spare a thought for our editorial team who were chained to their desks while sending our January issue to press with little time to swim. Still, Ella managed to join in the fun at the bonkers but brilliant, Portishead Popsicle – you can read all about in the upcoming issue of Outdoor Swimmer!
A perennial topic for outdoor swimmers is Raynaud’s. For those who suffer from it, winter swimming can be challenging. Last year we published some research on the topic along with top tips on how to cope if you’re affected. We thought it would be a good time to share this again: ‘Does outdoor swimming make Raynaud’s worse?’
Finally, please do
take 10-15 minutes to complete our annual Attitudes to Outdoor Swimming surveyand give yourself a chance to win one of our fabulous prizes.
Happy swimming!
