WORLD DROWNING PREVENTION DAY 2022
‘Do one thing to prevent drowning’ is the key message in this year’s World Drowning Prevention Day 2022.
Outdoor Swimmer has partnered with Climategames to encourage subscribers to challenge themselves while helping to restore the planet. Our mission is to remove 350kg of plastic and to plant 1,000 trees through all our subscribers’ logged swims over the next 12 months.
We are looking for individuals to join Aspire Relay Channel swim teams and take on the 22 mile swim in 2023. At Aspire, we are as passionate about swimming as you are and will be with you all the way, from sign up to feeling the sand between your toes on a French beach. Robyn Carter completed the swim from the North Sea platform of Sealand, setting a new record. The challenge is a 12km sea swim from an offshore platform in the North Sea to the Suffolk Coast organised by the spinal injuries charity Aspire.

A GEOGRAPHICAL SWIMMING CHALLENGE: 10 WILD SWIMS IN 10 COUNTIES
A couple from Bedfordshire have completed an outdoor swimming challenge that was as much about geography as it was about the simple joy of swimming in open water. Kelly Dockerill and Richard Johnstone decided to attempt 10 wild swims in 10 different counties, with each swim being a minimum of 250 metres.
