#swimwildandfree
Hi ,
Â
Who doesn’t love a holiday? We can’t wait to go exploring the world from the water again. It’s been a tough couple of years. Last year, for example, more than 1 in 20 swimmers had a swimming holiday booked that was subsequently cancelled or postponed because of covid, while a further 1 in 8 swimmers wanted
to book a swimming holiday but weren’t able.
Â
With covid restrictions now lifted in England, with other countries hopefully soon to follow, travel will at last be getting easier again.
Â
Demand is high, so book soon. Two out of three swimmers say they’d like to do a swimming holiday of 5 days or longer, while 4 out of 5 swimmers are keen on a weekend swimming break and the opportunity to explore new wild swimming locations.
Â
This email explores some UK swim holiday options along with a testimonial.Â
Taking place in beautiful Devon and Cornwall, Active England have launched a series of stunning 3-4 day swim tours this summer.
Two types of swim tours are offered – one geared towards ‘wild dippers’ and the newly launched longer swim trips for ‘explorer swimmers’. A highlight of both tours includes the much-loved swim down Avon estuary to
Bantham Beach where you'll fly with the current as you approach the beach.Â
Designed for those who want a mixture of open water, estuary and lido swims in the most spectacular locations, the tours offer a fun, invigorating experience with stunning scenery above and below the water.
Long Swims in Devon
Outdoor swimming is a way to see the local landscape from a totally unique perspective. Devon long swim tours with Active England are for the adventurous wild swimmers and offer the perfect balance of exploration and relaxation, including the iconic
6km Avon Estuary to Bantham Beach swim and Burgh Island swim. You'll get to experience the likes of swimming with the Devon Wild Swimmers club at Tinside Lido, the rarely visited Mothecombe Beach and Erme Estuary, as well as a boat trip to Cornwall from Plymouth to swim at Cawsands and Kingsands.Â
Short Swims in Devon & Cornwall
Short swim holidays with Active England offer a chance to immerse yourself in the joys of sea swimming, hidden beaches and coves, sea pools and lidos, whilst being fuelled by cream teas, fresh seafood, pasties and great company. It's no doubt the
wonderful sea air of Devon or Cornwall is a way to reset yourself and reconnect, and being safely guided by expert, local guides is the perfect way to experience all that this stunning coast has to offer. Wild swimming at its best!

"I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 day swim trip with fabulous guides and friendly fellow swimmers, amazing locations and varied, highly enjoyable swims in clear waters. The guides were super friendly and always had a plan B ready accommodating changing weather
conditions. The drives through narrow country roads were equally enjoyable passing quaint villages and the beautiful Devon countryside. In the evenings we got back to the clean and comfortable hotel for a restful night's sleep to recharge for the next day's adventures." - Active England guest Bea S, 2021
